The jump Start
Back in the ’80s, a couple decided to come to South Australia and start a missionary base, a place where believers could be empowered, prepared and sent to reach people to tell them about the amazing love of our father.
Well, since then, heaps have happened. We’ve acquired a property, met some amazing folks, hundreds were trained and even more were impacted. We have even changed our name during the incredible journey that God has been guiding us through.
A new season
Throughout every season we saw provision and vision coming through and learned a lot about who we are and what God wants to do in us and through us. After all these years, we’ve gained more than experience, we’ve gained clarity and identity so we can come forward and say:
We are YWAM Adelaide!
Not so new, right?
Yes, it’s new but at the same time it isn’t. Mostly because that’s who we’ve always been, no matter how we were called or where we are located, we were always YWAM Adelaide and in this new season we bring more than just a new logo or a new website but along those things, there is also fresh new vision followed with a return to the simple and powerful reality of what it means to know God and to make Him known.
Moving forward
As part of this new chapter we will be returning home to our property in the beautiful Adelaide Hills in Norton Summit; In our understanding, this is not a move back as much as it is a move forward towards the word of the Lord for YWAM Adelaide.
We are super excited to see what is in store for us in the new season we are entering and we invite you to get alongside us!
Ministries and Schools
All our current ministries and schools have kept on going non-stop for the past years! The well known YWAM DTS (discipleship training school), our staff internship (MDI) as well as our weekly ministries Duo unto others, Kids Club, Streetlight, street evangelism and new projects coming in the horizon, bible translation, new schools and seminars on evangelism, pioneering, identity in Christ and more! We’ve been active in the community and having amazing journeys of discipleship and missions with students from all over the world! We are surely not stopping now! As we move and change, things will re-adapt, the wheels are in motion!
Abide
These are exciting times for us and although we’re involved in a lot, that is not our main focus, here at YWAM Adelaide we intentionally focus on abiding in Christ as it is written in John 15.
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself,
unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me” – John 15:4
Our understanding is that who we are in Him is way more important than what we do for Him.
Our desire is to keep on bearing fruit that comes out of intimacy;
Let’s do this thing!
